Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. in Georgia seeks a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and service CAT equipment and other heavy machinery. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on diesel engines in construction equipment.

Ideal candidates have diesel technician experience, strong hydraulics/electrical knowledge, and welding skills. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and teamwork within a CAT dealer network in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience working as a diesel technician.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems; welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of light and heavy frame assemblies, suspensions, drive trains, electrical systems, steering, and brakes.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders.
• Tune up engines and diagnose computer controls and A/C components using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform welding and brazing; fabricate/modify parts and attachments.
• Document work orders, parts orders, inspections, warranty support, and time sheets accurately.
• Work safely and in accordance with procedures.
