Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum prior experience as a diesel technician.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and follow manuals and repairs.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and document work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines.
• Repair or replace components of frames, suspensions, drive trains and electrical systems.
• Determine repair extent and prepare service orders.
• Tune engines and diagnose computer controls and A/C components.
• Perform welding and fabricate parts as needed.
• Complete work orders, parts orders and time sheets accurately.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards; participate in safety program.
