Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair and service diesel engines and related systems on Caterpillar equipment in Macon, Georgia.

You will work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components, perform welding, document work, and adhere to safety standards while delivering quality service. Ideal candidates have hands-on diesel experience, strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset to support customers and colleagues

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; trade coursework is desirable.
• Experience as a diesel technician with hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read manuals, follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and welding equipment is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of frame assemblies, suspensions, drive trains, electrical systems, steering and brakes.
• Determine repair scope and prepare service orders; tune engines and diagnose controls and A/C components.
• Perform welding/brazing, fabricate or modify parts and attachments as needed.
• Complete all documentation accurately in work orders and time sheets; comply with safety procedures.
