Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and components on Caterpillar equipment in Georgia.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, familiarity with hydraulics and electrical systems, and the ability to read manuals and service literature. Ideal candidates will have prior diesel technician experience, welding skills, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience as a diesel technician.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read manuals and follow instructions.
• Welding and fabrication skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of frames, suspension, drive trains, electrical systems, steering, braking, and operator comfort systems.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders for required work.
• Tune up engines; diagnose controls and air conditioning components with diagnostic equipment.
• Perform welding and brazing, fabricate and modify parts as needed.
• Complete all documentation (work orders, parts orders, inspections, warranty support, time sheets) accurately and timely.
• Work safely and in accordance with time, quality and safety procedures.
• Participate in safety programs and perform additional duties as assigned.
