Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with referrals and prior authorizations preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with EHR and scheduling systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for patients and providers to schedule referred appointments and services.
• Screen, process, and track internal and external referrals for timeliness.
• Schedule clinically appropriate appointments based on provider direction and patient needs.
• Obtain required authorizations for visits, procedures, surgeries, and medications.
• Investigate incomplete referrals and follow up with providers or departments.
• Respond to messages related to patient referrals to support scheduling.
• Maintain organized filing for referral documents and departmental records.
• Route appointment and referral information using electronic systems or phone.
• Answer and direct incoming calls to ensure efficient communication.
• Adhere to emergency policies and service standards to support patient safety.
