Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced echocardiography technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels for adult patients. You will identify EKG abnormalities, assist with stress testing, and apply Doppler and contrast techniques to answer clinical questions.

You will work with the cardiology team, follow updated protocols, and participate in cross training and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• ARDMS/CCI registration within 1 year
• BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels, along with identifying EKG abnormalities and/or arrhythmia.
• Uses age-appropriate protocols and patient positioning to obtain optimal cardiac views.
• Assesses valvular function with Doppler and color flow imaging; recognizes artifacts and normal variants.
• Operates ultrasound equipment, selects appropriate transducers, and documents findings accurately.
• Assists cardiologist with stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography as needed.
