Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Security Officer II to lead a security shift, coordinate with supervisors and campus leadership, and ensure safety across NM facilities. The role includes overseeing CCTV and access control operations and directing information flow to officers on duty.

Ideal candidates will have 6 months of NMHC Security Services experience, IAHSS certifications, and a current BLS certificate.

Qualifications

• Requires a high-school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Completion of IAHSS Basic and Advanced certifications.
• Maintain IAHSS Basic and Advanced certification.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification within 9 months of hire.
• Successful completion of Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 6 months of hire.
• 6 months minimum, 1 year preferred experience in NMHC Security Services.
• Bilingual ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• This position will serve as the shift leader in the absence of the Security Supervisor.
• Communicate regularly with Security Supervisor, Program Manager, and site leadership regarding Security needs.
• Disseminate information to assigned/scheduled Officers.
• Identify opportunities for improvement regarding safety and security on shift.
• Provide operational oversight of campus security camera system and access control systems.
• Maintain records and reports for the shift and coordinate with other departments to ensure a safe NM environment.
• Deploy and utilize appropriate security resources throughout the shift.
• Lead investigations of fire, theft, or other incidents as needed on NM property.
