Job summary

Bon Secours seeks an unarmed Protective Services Officer at St. Francis Downtown to safeguard patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol, escort, and respond to incidents, coordinating with clinical teams as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and BLS certification within six months. Prior security/military experience is preferred; TASER training within 60 days is required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience (preferred)
• Valid driver's license (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required within 6 months of hire)
• RSFH licensure: meet SLED licensure requirements (armed - TASER) within 6 months and TASER Training within 60 days, per SLED guidelines and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provides escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigates safety hazards for patients, visitors and employees.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property including parking areas.
• Enforces policies such as parking regulations, visitation policies, and tobacco-free/smoking rules.
• Monitors hospital activity on CCTV to identify escalating situations requiring protective services involvement.
• Intervenes in confrontations as appropriate and coordinates with clinical teams and law enforcement.
• Documents duties in daily activity logs and incident reports.
