Job summary

Bon Secours’ St. Mary’s Hospital seeks an unarmed Protective Services Officer to safeguard patients, visitors and staff. You'll escort, patrol and enforce policies, while monitoring CCTV and assisting in incidents.

This role emphasizes communication, situational awareness and collaboration with clinical teams and law enforcement. Required: high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, BLS within 6 months; armed licensure training per SLED may be needed within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• RSFH licensure requirements (armed – TASER) within 6 months, per SLED guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, visitors and staff to ensure safety.
• Patrol hospital grounds and parking areas to deter incidents.
• Enforce hospital policies and visitor regulations.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to escalating situations.
• Intervene in confrontations and document incidents.
• Maintain daily activity logs and incident reports.
