Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage and optimize patient and physician scheduling within our hospital network in Naples.

You will coordinate appointments, procedures, and treatments across departments to ensure efficient use of resources and high-quality patient care. You will serve as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and administration, confirming appointments, updating records in the EHR, and prioritizing urgent requests.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related certification preferred
• 0-2 years experience in medical scheduling or front desk work preferred
• Experience with EMR/scheduling software preferred

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for consultations, tests, procedures, and follow-ups
• Notify patients of confirmations, cancellations, or reschedules with clear instructions
• Enter and update patient information in the EHR/scheduling system
• Coordinate with medical staff to align appointments with clinical priorities
• Track cancellations and no-shows and reschedule as needed
• Provide general administrative support including calls and referrals
• Review orders for validity and completeness
• Ask patients questions for tests and provide prep instructions
• Prioritize work and process STAT orders timely
• Notify ordering offices if scheduling is not possible
• Offer alternative scheduling options to meet patient needs
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to schedule properly
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain regular attendance
