Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Edina, MN is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support access to services, manage registrations, and coordinate information across patients, providers and staff. The role involves handling multiple telephone lines, scheduling tests and procedures from doctor orders, and keeping schedules and reports up to date.

You will contribute to efficient patient flow and interdepartment communication, ensuring timely, accurate scheduling and discharge coordination as needed.

Qualifications

• Vocational training or certificate in medical receptionist or related administrative field.

Responsibilities

• Acquires vital consent from patient for medical records and authorizations from managed care plans and other payers.
• Communicates with patient, staff and referring physician regarding authorization decisions.
• Schedules services such as tests, procedures and follow‑up visits from Doctor’s orders.
• Produces efficient and accurate schedules and reports.
• Records and updates schedule changes accurately.
• Monitors discharge status and coordinates discharge communication to the referring physician.
• Answers multiple telephone lines and addresses callers’ needs promptly.
• Participates in department decision‑making and coordinates patient schedules across areas.

Education
