Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an Operations Associate for the Med/Surg Unit Springfield 6400 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. This part-time role features 7am-7:30pm shifts with rotating holidays and will support bed management, admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure smooth patient flow on the unit.

Responsibilities include coordinating ADTs, using hospital information systems, and assisting hospital teams with daily operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Bed management: tracks, prioritizes, and assigns beds; coordinates ADTs with admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Proficient in daily use of OA Gold, BMD, CIS, Premise, PeopleSoft and related systems where applicable.
• Unit-specific projects and administrative duties such as payroll, scheduling and committee participation as assigned.
• Communication: provides handoffs and updates to shifts, coordinates with departments for priority tests and discharge planning.
• Greeter role for new patients and families; assists departments with information and questions.
• Maintains patient charts, organizes medical records, and handles discharge documentation and transfers.
