AdaptHealth in Hawaii is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently.

You will work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward smoothly. This role suits detail-oriented individuals who communicate clearly in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate degree required.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred.
• Healthcare organization experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, payer guidelines, and eligibility prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams for complete documentation.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in electronic systems.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity standards.
• Coordinate inventory and services with leadership.
• Collaborate with sales, insurance verification, and internal support teams.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems for documentation management.
• Ensure appropriate shipping and delivery methods follow company procedures.
