Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will collaborate with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and move intake forward efficiently, while maintaining compliant records across EMR and billing systems.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in related field.
• Experience in admin, clerical, insurance, billing, call center, or customer service preferred.
• Experience in healthcare org, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare environment is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, payer guidelines, and eligibility prior to service delivery.
• Explain financial responsibility to patients and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements; provide alternatives.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams for complete documentation.
• Ensure services are provided compliantly and within payer requirements.
