Heritage Wellness & Rehabilitation in Maryville, Missouri, seeks a Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator to join its leadership team. This role balances payroll accuracy with employee support, guiding onboarding, HR administration, records, compliance, and employee relations to foster a positive workplace culture.

The ideal candidate will manage payroll processing, onboarding, HR records, and respond to payroll/HR inquiries while supporting engagement and development across departments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, healthcare, or related setting
• 1+ year Payroll and/or Human Resources experience
• Experience processing payroll and maintaining employee records
• Knowledge of payroll compliance, wage/hour regulations, employment laws
• Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems preferred
• Strong conflict resolution, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely payroll for facility employees
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
• Review timecards, resolve payroll discrepancies, and audit payroll reports
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork
• Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation
• Assist with benefits administration and employee leave documentation
• Serve as a resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR-related questions
• Support employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives
• Help resolve employee concerns professionally while maintaining confidentiality
• Demonstrate conflict resolution skills and collaborate with department leaders
• Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations
• Assist with HR reporting, audits, and regulatory documentation
• Partner with department managers to support staffing, hiring, and employee development
• Maintain HRIS and payroll system accuracy
• Perform additional administrative and HR duties as assigned
