Job summary

Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services in Alaska seeks a reliable Patient Service Coordinator to support patient encounters and ensure a positive, efficient experience while handling revenue-cycle tasks for reimbursement.

You will schedule appointments, triage calls, collect demographics and payments, check in patients, and use scheduling software and Microsoft Office on PC and mobile, in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent front desk/receptionist experience within the last 3 years in a healthcare or professional office setting.
• Experience with scheduling, phones, patient/client check-in, and handling payments.
• Experience with technology systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling patient appointments, coordinating care with other services/agencies and minimizing access delays
• Processing incoming referrals, triaging patient telephone calls, collecting and/or updating demographic and financial information
• Investigating pre-authorizations and approval for insurance
• Checking in patients
• Processing co-pays and patient charge documents
• Utilizing systems and resources to improve processes and efficiency of the patient experience
