SEARHC is seeking a Patient Care Coordination Specialist II to support patient experience and clinic flow. The role involves full registration, front-desk duties, and coordination of referrals and appointments across multiple service lines.

This position emphasizes independent judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and advanced knowledge of eligibility, benefits, and referral processes within a non-profit health consortium serving Southeast Alaska.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of referral processes, insurance benefits, and authorization requirements.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for patients, providers, and staff via phone, email, or in person; manage clinic communications.
• Register and pre-register patients; verify insurance eligibility and data in the EHR.
• Check-in patients, collect copays, and ensure forms are completed and filed.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments across service lines per protocols.
• Coordinate referrals and travel/documents in coordination with care teams.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold standards of service excellence.
