UnityPoint Health is seeking an Experience Specialist/Receptionist at Family Medicine West Waterloo to warmly greet patients, verify details, schedule visits, and support billing and front-desk operations. You will help create a welcoming, efficient environment in daytime hours, Monday through Friday.

The role combines administrative tasks with strong customer service, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork to ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service or front desk experience preferred (healthcare setting is a plus).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency in computer systems and scheduling platforms.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
• Check patients in/out, verify information, update records as needed.
• Schedule and manage appointments using the clinic's EHR system.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, direct calls to departments.
• Collect payments and answer billing questions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Monitor waiting area for cleanliness and flow.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to manage patient flow.
• Perform general admin tasks: data entry, filing, scanning.
• Assist onboarding of new patients and explain clinic policies.
