Job summary

Iowa Ortho is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist (Patient Experience Specialist) to support our orthopedic providers by delivering excellent customer service at the front desk across Johnston, Waukee, and Laurel locations. The role handles check-in, scheduling, billing support, and patient communications with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities include opening reception, greeting visitors, updating demographics and insurance info in NextGen, collecting co-pays, and coordinating

Qualifications

• Prior face-to-face customer service experience and/or healthcare exposure.
• Basic understanding of health insurance and medical billing.
• Experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Open the reception area and monitor lobby activities.
• Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
• Answer phones, check-in patients, and collect co-pays.
• Enter/update patient information in HST/NextGen systems.
• Assist with insurance follow-up and billing tasks.
• Maintain a friendly, professional atmosphere at all times.
