SIMEDHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a full-time Telephone Operator to be the welcoming first point of contact for patients. You will answer calls, route inquiries, verify information, schedule appointments, and assist with basic office tasks while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills (Word, Outlook) and experience with electronic medical records, delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Experience using electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.

Responsabilidades

• Answer incoming phones and direct patient calls to appropriate extension using multi-line phone system.
• Answer patient inquiries regarding general customer service questions (e.g. office directions, operating hours, etc.).
• Verify patient information, update when needed and document health care information electronically into the patient chart.
• Type detailed notes and maintain patient records.
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance and operate an electronic fax server.
• Read and interpret Hospital Call Schedules and patient information.
• Review provider schedules for availability daily and throughout the day.
• Familiarize with hospital consults and transitional care calls.
• Direct new patient calls to the new patient coordinator.
• Retrieve voicemail messages and return calls as needed.
• Observe HIPAA and safety policies for patients and staff.
