SIMEDHealth in Ocala, FL, seeks a full-time Telephone Operator to be the friendly first point of contact for patients. You will answer calls, direct inquiries, verify patient information, and help with scheduling while maintaining HIPAA standards.

Must have strong customer service, solid computer skills (Word/Outlook), and experience with electronic medical records in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and route to the correct extension using a multi-line system.
• Provide courteous information about hours, directions, and general inquiries.
• Verify patient information and document data in the electronic chart.
• Type detailed notes and schedule appointments; verify insurance.
• Read hospital schedules and manage provider availability.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy.
• Direct new patient calls to the coordinator as needed.
• Retrieve and follow up on voicemail messages.
