Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Full-time Maintenance Engineer in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves servicing hospital facilities and patient care equipment, documenting work in the CMMS, and addressing emergencies as they arise. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years’ maintenance experience.

Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and traveling as needed. Join a diverse team supporting hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including CMMS and building automation systems.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance per codes and documents in CMMS.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, doors, fans, boilers, etc.).
• Maintain patient care equipment such as beds and carts as needed.
• Care for mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, piping, gas systems) with guidance.
• Perform routine general maintenance (grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal).
• Respond to emergencies (leaks, outages, fires) and notify accordingly.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks; read blueprints and manuals.
