Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform upkeep of hospital facilities and equipment. You will document actions in the CMMS and respond to emergencies while following safety standards.

The role requires 2–4 years of equipment maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED. Shift is 11:00am–7:30pm with occasional holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and documents actions in CMMS.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, controls).
• Maintains patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables).
• Maintains mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, refrigeration, water systems, gas systems).
• Performs general maintenance (grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal).
• Responds to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, equipment failures).
• Responds to requests and communicates corrective actions status.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls and partitions.
• Reads blueprints and manuals to complete tasks.
