Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the 11480 Support Operations Division. The role involves performing routine to complex maintenance on clinical and non-clinical equipment, documenting activity in CMMS, and ensuring safety and compliance with codes.

You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with stakeholders to complete assignments efficiently while maintaining patient and staff safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Documents through the CMMS.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, doors, fans, boilers, and related equipment with guidance.
• Maintain patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables.
• Support mechanical/electrical systems like HVAC, refrigerators, water systems; follow defined parameters.
• Handle general maintenance: grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal.
• Respond to emergencies (leaks, fires, outages) and notify on status.
• Address building occupant requests and perform preventive maintenance and safety checks.
