Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management with at least 5 years of experience.
• Understanding of building plans and specs.
• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Knowledge of corporate/industry safety standards.
• Working knowledge of CPM schedule.
• Working knowledge of cost reports and labor production reports.
• Knowledge of corporate quality program.
• Knowledge of subcontract language.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Proficient in all 5 areas of focus on their project: Safety, Schedule, Cost, Quality, and communication with external partners.
• Develop and implement a site-specific safety plan for each project assigned.
• Verify subcontractors have valid subcontract and insurance before on-site work.
• Serve as the OSHA competent person for various tasks.
• Preplan operations to avoid hazards and correct hazards immediately.
• Supervise construction to meet plans and specs.
• Understand contract documents and submittals.
• Provide technical assistance and develop construction methods.
• Work with the project team to set project goals and schedule milestones.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials for self-perform operations.
• Create the Site-Specific Quality Plan (SSQP) and manage quality efforts.
• Complete onsite material verification as required.
• Manage project budget: assist PM in budgets and cost-to-complete.
• Manage the T&M process and track quantities weekly.
• Identify field changes and process change requests for compensation.
• Approve subcontractor requisitions.
• Manage to meet schedule requirements: baseline scheduling and tracking.
• Communicate schedule at weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Develop short-term weekly plans supporting schedule.
• Coordinate daily stand-up and weekly foreman meetings.
• Ensure material delivery log is accurate.
• Interface professionally with client reps and other officials.
• Participate in business development and lead generation for future projects.
• Attend quarterly superintendent and safety meetings and training.
• Supervise foremen, assistant superintendents, and project engineers.
