Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution of commercial construction projects. You will lead the project team, coordinate with the Superintendent, and manage budgets, risks, and client relations to deliver predictable outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and typically 5+ years of commercial construction experience, including healthcare projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Preferably 5+ years in commercial construction.
• Healthcare construction experience required.
• Understands estimating concepts, bids, and change orders.
• Knowledge of building codes and plans/specifications.
• Effective team collaboration and delegation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Champion The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for teams and customers.
• Ensure Constructing with Integrity through safety and quality.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent to ensure project delivery and client relations.
• Assist in preparing estimates and project budgets.
• Lead the project team in developing the PMP and conduct pre-award meetings.
• Participate in value engineering, subcontract negotiations, and permit approvals.
• Develop project schedule and milestones with the project superintendent.
• Manage contract documents for completeness and execution of construction contracts.
• Oversee procurement of materials/equipment within budget and schedule.
• Monitor site performance: quantity, cost, safety, quality, schedule; manage risk plans.
• Negotiate change orders and manage cost/profit impact.
• Prepare monthly client pay requests and follow up on collections.
• Coordinate with job cost accountant for payments and lien releases.
• Manage close-out procedures and as-built drawings.
