Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Pre-construction Manager to lead the SBU’s pre-construction activities and drive efficient estimating, planning, and business development efforts. The role focuses on delivering predictable outcomes for internal and external teams and upholding the company’s values.

The position requires a BS in a related field and extensive healthcare construction experience, with strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate budgeting, cost history, and market-facing

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or related field
• Minimum 10+ years of healthcare construction experience
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business materials
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Proficient computer skills including email, databases, Word, Excel
• CMiC experience preferred
• Estimating software knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities for the SBU
• Provide leadership for estimating and planning support personnel
• Monitor project budgeting and buy-out processes for reliable estimates
• Facilitate communication of cost history for pricing information
• Interface with marketing to ensure brand recognition
• Oversee procurement strategies and development of proposals
• Plan and implement training for estimators and BD professionals
• Identify and pursue profitable projects and maintain client relationships
• Supervise Estimating and Business Development teams
