Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to work under the Site Superintendent and Project Manager on commercial projects. The role involves developing job plans, coordinating schedules, procuring resources, and resolving issues with architects, owners, and subcontractors.

The candidate should have a construction management background, 1+ year OSHPD/HCAI healthcare project experience, knowledge of codes, blueprints, and BIM360 proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 1+ year of OSHPD/HCAI healthcare project experience.
• Experience with mechanical and plumbing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Understanding of subcontractors' scopes and quality requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with BIM360 or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal, external teams, and customers.
• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Develop job plan including schedule, access, manpower, and building requirements.
• Procure tools, labor, and some materials.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve issues.
• Communicate progress to supervisory personnel and clients.
• Inspect progress to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Track and price extra work tickets, change requests, and back charges.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
