Job summary

Eightelevengroup is seeking a Superintendent to oversee healthcare construction sites in Layton, Utah. This on-site role manages scheduling, procurement, and direct labor to ensure timely completion while enforcing safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, at least five years in commercial healthcare projects, OSHPD/HCAI experience, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Healthcare construction experience required.
• Experienced leading field teams on healthcare projects.
• HCAI/OSHPD background required.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan construction procedures based on project specifications, timelines, and staffing requirements.
• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction, considering available tools, equipment, and building methods.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules, including look ahead schedules, and participate in pre-construction meetings.
• Direct procurement and timely delivery of tools, materials, and equipment to meet work schedules.
• Supervise and manage all direct labor and subcontracted work on site to ensure quality and timely completion.
• Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including supervisory personnel, craft workers, subcontractors, and clients; conduct regular meetings to update and gather input.
• Meet with subcontractors prior to mobilization to review scope of work, schedule, and phasing requirements.
• Resolve workforce complaints and grievances in collaboration with supervisory and labor representatives.
• Identify and resolve construction problems in collaboration with engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to improve construction methods.
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and schedules.
• Monitor project progress, material usage, and costs; adjust work schedules as needed.
• Manage crew assignments, labor costs, and personnel transitions between projects; responsible for crew mixes and work assignments.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan with the project manager.
• Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, safety standards, equal opportunity, and quality requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping requirements and company quality standards on site.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
