Job summary

Great River Health seeks a leader to manage day-to-day operations of Health Information Management, including coding, release of information, and record processing. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and strategic direction across coding operations, collaborating with clinical leadership to reflect patient care in documentation.

The position requires an AA in HIM, RHIT/CCS certification at hire, 4-6 years HIM/coding experience, and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• AA in Health Information Management is required.
• 4-6 years of hospital or professional coding/HIM experience is required.
• RHIT or CCS certification required upon hire.
• BA/BS in HIM or related field is preferred.
• 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Health Information Management (HIM) including Release of Information, Record Processing, and Coding.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction across coding operations; ensure documentation reflects clinical care.
• Ensure compliant and accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS coding; improve revenue cycle and customer relations.
• Establish performance standards; monitor and drive improvements; design training programs.
• Ensure HIPAA confidentiality and compliance with laws and GRH policies.

Education

AA in Health Information Management

RHIT or CCS upon hire

BA/BS in HIM or related field (preferred)

Leadership experience (1-3 years, preferred)
