Job summary

Great River Health in Iowa is seeking an experienced leader to manage the day-to-day Health Information Management operations, including Release of Information, Record Processing and Coding. The role ensures staff performance meets departmental standards and regulatory requirements.

You will lead the coding operations, drive performance improvement, maintain documentation integrity, and collaborate with Providers and Clinical Leadership to accurately reflect the provision of care while

Qualifications

• AA in Health Information Management required.
• 4-6 years’ experience in hospital or professional coding/HIM required.
• RHIT or CCS upon hire required.
• BA/BS in HIM or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day HIM operations including Release of Information, Record Processing and Coding.
• Lead coding operations and ensure timeliness and accuracy of facility and professional coding.
• Design and use performance improvement activities for coding services and follow up on findings.
• Establish qualitative and quantitative performance standards for Coding.
• Develop and implement training programs for HIM staff and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensure documentation integrity supporting revenue cycle and CDI.
• Collaborate with Providers and Clinical Leadership to reflect care accurately and align with GRH’s strategic plan.
