Job summary

Covenant HealthCare seeks an HIM Manager to oversee accuracy of clinical documentation, DRG assignment, and coding optimization. You will manage transcription, chart completion, CDI, and overall HIM operations while leading a team toward timely, compliant processing of patient health information.

You will drive strategic leadership, budget management, and process improvements, ensuring HIPAA compliance and continued credentialing in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• RHIA or RHIT credential; RN with medical record experience may be considered when paired with another RHIA/RHIT‑credentialed HIM leader.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service in all interactions.
• Collaborates with physicians, coding staff, CDI specialists, and clinical partners to improve DRG accuracy.
• Develops, monitors, and manages the departmental budget.
• Leads staff through coaching, evaluations, motivation, and professional development.
• Communicates effectively to encourage action, resolve conflict, and support change initiatives.
• Leads and supports projects that improve workflow and interdepartmental processes.
• Ensures the integrity of the legal medical record and compliance with regulatory requirements.
