Job summary

Great River Health Systems in Iowa seeks a Health Information Management leader to oversee Release of Information, Record Processing, and Coding across GRH entities. You will provide strategic direction, ensure documentation supports revenue cycle, and drive quality with regulatory compliance.

The role collaborates with Providers and Clinical Leadership, trains staff, conducts coding audits, and partners with third-party vendors to optimize performance while upholding privacy and security

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management is required.
• 4–6 years of hospital or professional coding or Health Information Management experience required.
• RHIT or Certified Coding Specialist certification upon hire required; BA/BS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Operations of Health Information Management (Release of Information, Record Processing, Coding).
• Provide leadership and strategic direction across coding operations.
• Ensure documentation accurately reflects clinical care and supports revenue cycle.
• Oversee performance standards and drive quality improvement activities.
• Coordinate audits and external reviews; participate in vendor relations and policy development.
