Job summary

Signature HealthCARE is seeking a Health Information Management professional to oversee medical records lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance. The role supports quality outcomes and requires strong analytical skills.

You will manage electronic and paper records, coordinate storage and audits, and serve as a subject matter expert for health information standards within our facility. This is a full-time on-site position in Putnam County with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• RHIT or RHIA credential preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in a health care facility.
• Knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional practice standards for Health Information.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of medical records throughout its lifecycle, including admission through discharge.
• Upload paper-based patient records to the electronic chart promptly upon receipt.
• Maintain organized auxiliary clinical and administrative records to support legal discovery and reporting.
• Coordinate long-term storage of paper documents and retrieval requests as needed.
• Follow up with hospitals and external providers for documentation after transfers.
• Conduct routine audits to verify documentation and report findings in meetings.
