Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Health Information Management Technician to support chart completion, data entry, and release of information with strict confidentiality.

You will work with physicians and staff to ensure regulatory compliance, manage records retrieval, on‑call rotations, and support joint commission standards. This role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within Lifepoint Health's network.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Critical thinking and decisive judgment required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in release of information preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes records for chart completion and regulatory compliance.
• Assigns deficiencies to appropriate medical staff and tracks data.
• Reviews documentation and clears deficiencies as needed.
• Handles calls and assists visitors while keeping confidentiality.
• Retrieves, logs, and prints medical records as requested.
• Notifies Director of outstanding records or equipment issues.
• Participates in on‑call rotation for records retrieval.
• Supports other HIM daily functions and dictation setup.
• Ensures records meet Joint Commission standards.
