Medicare, benefits and doctors' instructions can be hard to follow, especially for older adults managing several of them at once. At Ez Health, we're hiring Health Educators to help seniors understand their options and take the next step, all by phone.
Many of our clients are keeping track of appointments, medications, referrals, rides and forms at the same time. They often know something isn't working but aren't sure what to ask or who can help. As a Health Educator, you'll break it down for them, one clear step at a time, and stay with them until things are sorted out.
A small group of clients. This isn't a high-volume phone job. You'll support about 20 clients or fewer, so you can get to know each person, keep your commitments and work with them over the long run.
A Typical Week
Call each client regularly to see how things are going
Ask questions that get to the real barrier behind a problem
Help clients prepare for appointments and check in afterward
Teach clients what their benefits, referrals and next steps mean, in plain words
Coordinate with doctors' offices, pharmacies, insurance companies and community groups
Set up practical support like transportation, meals, prescription help and local programs
Try a new approach when the usual path doesn't work
Write clear notes so the rest of the team can pick up where you left off
See every task through so each client knows how it turned out
Is This You?
You don't need a health care background, though it helps. If you've taught, tutored, worked as a paraprofessional or explained complicated things to people for a living, you already use the skills this job needs. We care most about how you listen, how you work through problems and whether you finish what you start.
You'd fit in well if you:
Enjoy talking with older adults and don't mind spending most of the day on the phone
Are comfortable making outbound calls
Notice what isn't being said and ask the next question
Can explain a confusing topic clearly and patiently, more than once if needed
Stay calm and kind when someone is frustrated, unsure or overwhelmed
Can keep many open tasks on track without anything slipping
Take ownership and don't need reminders
Use email, Google Docs, Google Sheets and other online tools with ease
Get satisfaction from untangling real problems for people who need help
Our team uses technology and AI to stay organized. What makes a great Health Educator is still human: good judgment, compassion and determination.
