Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Tooling Toolmaker for the first shift in Decorah, IA. You will learn to read blueprints, use gauges, and craft header and secondary tooling for fastener production, with supervision as needed to achieve quality and productivity targets.

You will follow ISO/IATF16949 and SPC procedures, maintain tooling and setup sheets, and support header operators. A baseline of mechanical aptitude, shop knowledge, and teamwork is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong mechanical ability.
• General shop knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• Good human relations skills.
• Knowledge in IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
• Preferred: Educational certification in industrial-related field.
• Header or tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and use gauges to make tooling for header and secondary tooling.
• Operate toolroom equipment with minimal supervision.
• Set up header tooling and dies to print specifications.
• Read manufacturing and tooling blueprints to meet tolerances.
• Maintain back-up tooling to reduce downtime and boost productivity.
• Follow ISO & IATF16949 and SPC procedures.
• Assist header operators with tooling needs to meet dimensions.
• Initiate T.C.R.’s and E.C.’s to improve tooling designs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.
