Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Decorah, IA seeks a Tooling Toolmaker for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00pm–7:00am). You will read blueprints, set up tooling, and support header production in a fast-paced precision environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical ability.
• General shop knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• Good human relations skills.
• Knowledge in IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, use gauges and equipment to make/rework header and tooling for fastener manufacturing.
• Operate required toolroom equipment.
• Create header tooling and setups to die prints with minimal supervision.
• Read manufacturing/tooling blueprints and prepare necessary tools to meet tolerances.
• Maintain backup tooling to reduce downtime and boost production.
• Follow schedules and priorities set by supervisor or leadperson.
• Follow ISO & IATF16949 and SPC procedures pertaining to toolroom.
• Assist header operators with tooling needs to produce parts to spec.
• Update setup sheets and review obsolete orders; initiate improvements.
• Learn to interpret tooling and production prints.
• Use toolroom inspection equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area; follow safety guidelines.
• Learn preventative maintenance procedures.
• Follow all safety rules; perform other duties as required and overtime as needed.
