Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools invites applications for the Head Basketball Coach - Girls. The role plans, organizes, and directs the girls basketball program, teaches fundamentals, and models positive behavior for student-athletes. All coaches must be certified or cleared through the district process.

The position includes a Board-approved stipend of $8,000. A background check and fingerprinting are required; pro-rating will apply based on contract days remaining in the school year.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification (preferred) or classified dependent upon qualifications of the person holding the position.
• Previous Experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required
• Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches’ Education Program
• Must have or be willing to obtain CDL

• Ensures that all coaches in the basketball program are certified and cleared
• Ensures that student-athletes practicing or playing have been cleared through the Athletic Director

The funding for and duration of this position are finite, Pursuant to the Students First Act of 2011, Section 4(3)(b), tenure may not be gained by time served in this position.

SPECIAL NOTE: The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

SPECIAL NOTE: For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
