Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Head Outdoor Track Coach (Temporary) to lead and supervise the track program and team. The role emphasizes coordination of coaching staff and ensuring proper program implementation, with athlete clearance through the Athletic Director.

• Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification (preferred) or classified dependent upon qualifications of the person holding the position
• Previous Experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required
• Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches’ Education Program
• Must have or be willing to obtain CDL

Essential Duties:

• Coordinate and supervise Track program and team
• Organize and supervise the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented
• Ensures that student-athletes practicing or playing have been cleared through the Athletic Director
• Attend the AHSAA sponsored rules clinic for his/her sports
• Board Approved Stipend $4,000.00

SPECIAL NOTE: The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

SPECIAL NOTE: For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
