Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) seeks a Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans for preschool children aged 3–5, helping them grow socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally under MRDC leadership. The teacher collaborates with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to support students.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children per guidance from the Education Coordinator and leaders.
• Refer children with suspected special needs to appropriate staff.
• Implement behavior plans and IEPs with the team, families, and professionals.
• Guide activities including daily routines, field trips, and classroom setup.
• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio assessment with weekly observations and child work samples.
• Foster a positive learning atmosphere and a safe, organized classroom.
• Supervise children at all times and use positive behavior management strategies.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings to enhance professional skills.
• Ensure files are complete, accurate, and confidential.
