Job summary

The Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) is hiring a Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans for preschool children in Maryland. You will collaborate with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to support social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development in young learners.

Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, coordinating with families, and maintaining child portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• At least one year of early childhood classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum per guidance from leaders.
• Refer children with special needs to appropriate staff and implement IEPs.
• Foster a positive learning atmosphere encouraging creativity and exploration.
• Maintain a clean, safe classroom and supervise children at all times.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills.
• Maintain confidential portfolios with weekly observations and work samples.
