Job summary

Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) is seeking a Head Start Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans for preschool children, aligning with Head Start standards.

You will collaborate with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to create a supportive learning environment, maintain child portfolios, and ensure safety and confidentiality while fostering curiosity and growth in early learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• At least one year of early childhood classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children.
• Follow Head Start Performance Standards.
• Maintain comprehensive portfolio assessments with weekly observations.
• Supervise children and apply positive behavior management strategies.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings to enhance professional skills.
