Save the Children is seeking an Assistant Program Director for Head Start operations. You will oversee program compliance with Head Start standards, lead staff, and partner with schools and community organizations to deliver high-quality services for children and families.

You will supervise staff, support budgeting and procurement, and help implement program policies and safety protocols while promoting collaboration and continuous improvement across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in management, early childhood development, human services or a related field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience supervising with boards and advisory committees.
• Ability to communicate clearly with teams at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Program Director in the design, development, implementation, oversight, promotion, and reporting of program services.
• Ensure all program sites maintain safe, healthy, secure, and developmentally appropriate environments.
• Oversee facility maintenance, licensing, and vendor contracts to support program operations.
• Collaborate with fiscal, procurement and site leadership to manage budgets and resource allocation.
• Support procurement activities and contractor oversight per policies.
• Ensure implementation of safety, emergency preparedness, and risk management procedures.
• Provide supervision and training of custodial and maintenance staff.
• Assist in development and implementation of program policies, goals, and communication procedures.
• Monitor program operations for compliance and improvements; document findings.
• Develop and implement integrated management systems for Head Start/Early Head Start services.
• Collect and use quality data to demonstrate progress toward outcomes.
• Contribute to training plans, grants, and budgeting; participate in planning meetings.
