Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a Center Director to manage day-to-day operations of Head Start/Early Head Start centers, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations, coordinating with Education Manager, and engaging families and communities. You will supervise center staff, oversee safety, and contribute to program monitoring and family involvement efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or related field with at least two years of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or related field plus at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of program planning and practices in infant/toddler and preschool center-based programs’ thorough knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and best practices related to early childhood education.
• Proven knowledge of general business practices including supervision, accounts payable, inventory control, and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels, whether internal or external.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, children and parents, and outside agencies.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
• Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
• Demonstrated ability to successfully oversee and operate the day-to-day program in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Demonstrated successful time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and oversee daily operations of Head Start/Early Head Start centers.
• Provides supervision and guidance to center staff and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Communicates with parents and the community; maintains documentation and reports.
• Ensures safety and security of children; maintains safe indoor/outdoor environments.
• Assists Education Manager with transitions and family engagement activities.
• Participates in school readiness and CACFP documentation and compliance.
