Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a Center Director/Lead Teacher to oversee day-to-day operations at a Head Start/Early Head Start center. You will ensure compliance, supervise staff, and coordinate family engagement while maintaining a safe, high-quality learning environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in early childhood development or related field, plus leadership and budget experience, with strong English communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood development or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience.
• Proven work experience in a position that directly relates to the implementation and monitoring of program operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and best practices in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Hire and coach staff; facilitate resolution of conflicts; develop and monitor center and staff schedules.
• Oversee budgets and compliance with Head Start standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing feedback for performance improvement and appraisals.
• Plan and implement pre-service and ongoing in-service training for cooks, teachers, and aides.
• Monitor attendance, timesheets, and data input in ChildPlus; ensure quality learning environments.
• Coordinate family events and parent meetings to engage families in the program.
