Job summary

Save the Children is seeking an Assistant Program Director for the Head Start division in Indiana. The role supports the Program Director in maintaining compliance with Head Start standards, licensing, and organizational policies.

You will supervise staff, participate in recruitment and training, and help drive program excellence to benefit children and families. Responsibilities include coordinating program operations, budgeting, safety protocols, and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in management, early childhood development, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Proven supervisory/management experience including boards/advisory committees.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director in design, development, implementation, oversight and reporting of program services for children and families.
• Ensure safe, healthy, secure environments and compliance with standards and licensing.
• Oversee facility maintenance, budgets, procurement, and contracts.
• Provide supervision and training to custodial/maintenance staff.
• Assist with program policies, goals, and strategic planning.
• Develop and maintain effective communication channels across the organization.
