Job summary

Save the Children seeks a Center Director/Lead Teacher to oversee daily Head Start/Early Head Start operations at multiple sites. You will supervise staff, manage budgets and compliance, and ensure high quality teaching environments for children and families.

The role demands strong leadership and collaboration with program and family services teams to meet regulatory requirements. You will coordinate with the Program Director and adapt to center needs, driving safety, licensing, and program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels, internal or external.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and best practices in early childhood education.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and inventory while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Hire and coach staff; facilitate resolution of conflicts; develop center and staff schedules.
• Oversee budgets, compliance with Head Start standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and arrange training for cooks, teachers, and aides.
• Ensure quality teaching environments and plan in-service for program staff.
• Monitor attendance, timesheets, and center operations; coordinate family events.
• Support licensing, QRIS processes, and accreditation activities.
• Assist in fiscal management and procurement of center supplies.
