Job summary

Family Development Services Inc. is seeking a Center Director for our Head Start program in Indianapolis, IN. You will be the operational lead, ensuring compliance with Head Start, licensing, and agency policies while delivering high-quality early childhood education.

You will supervise staff, coordinate family services, and support teachers in implementing curriculum and assessments to promote school readiness for all children, including those with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience supervising center-based preschool/infant/toddler center as Center Director.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise center operations to meet Head Start and licensing requirements.
• Coordinate with Family Advocates to implement family services and parent involvement.
• Oversee staff performance, training, and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure health, safety, and developmentally appropriate learning environments across classrooms.
• Record keeping and reporting using ChildPlus, CreativeCurriculum.net, and related systems.
