Job summary

The Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) is a private nonprofit serving rural, low‑income households across Caroline, Cecil and Kent Counties. The Head Start Teacher develops individualized education plans and collaborates with the Site Supervisor to support children’s social, intellectual, physical and emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children per guidance from the Education Coordinator and leaders.
• Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child.
• Foster a positive learning atmosphere encouraging creativity and exploration.
• Supervise children and implement positive behavior management strategies.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings to enhance professional skills.
